The only one major station of Kaimur is at
Mohania, officially known as Bhabua Road(BBU) which lies on the
Howrah-Delhi Grand Chord (450 km) in Gaya-Mughalsarai Section. Proposal
of a railway line connecting Arrah to Mundeshwari via Ramgarh, Mohania
and Bhabua are laid down.Other railway stations of Kaimur are
Dhanichha (DCX), Karamnasa (KMS), Muthani (MTGE), Durgawati
(DGO),Pusauli (PSE), Khurmabad Road (KVD), Kudra (KTQ), Shiu Sagar Road
(SSG) and Kumahu (KMGE). Over 40 trains pass through the Bhabua Road
station. Kaimur is connected to major cities of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh through both roadways and railways. It is also connected to major cities of India through railways and airways.
Air Connectivity to Kaimur
Kiamur does not have an aerodrome. Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport (VNS) also known as Babatpur Airport is the
nearest airport to the city. It is at a
located at a distance of 71 km from Kaimur. Patna airport is also close
by from Kaimur. Regular flights are available from both the airports to
all important towns and cities across the country.
Local Transportation in Kaimur
Taxis are readily available in Kaimur to
travel from one place to another. Metered taxis are suitable for short
distance journeys. Auto Rickshaws and tempos are also preferred mode of
transport for traveling short distances. Apart from these cycle
rickshaws are also available for very short distances. As a medium of local transportation horse drawn tongas are also quite popular in the region. In all we can say that Kaimur has a decent transportation system when compared to other parts of Bihar.
